Pods Plus Aluminum V2 Case for iPod Video | iLounge

I have some questions:
* Does Sonnet's iPod charger fit?
* Does this case still keep the iPod's sleekness?
*Does it have the problem that most cases have: earphone jack holes that are too small over slightly oversized jacks?

I just got this case yesterday for my 5th gen iPod. While it might be too early to give a real in depth review, the case seems to fit incredibly well and seems much more protective than my contour showcase did. The included scroll wheel cover is a nice addition and actually makes the wheel much easier to use.

I love this case. It does keep the sleek shape and size of the 5G iPod, and I wasn't sure if I would like the rubber cover over the click wheel, it really does feel nice, and work well. Your thumb glides easily. My concern now, is the durability of the window. I'm hoping it doesn't scratch easy, and won 't distort video playback!

How do the thicknesses of the 60gb and the 80gb iPods compare? I recently got an 80gb, but it seems like the cases that interest me are only available for the 30gb and 60gb models(at least, so far). This case reminds me of the Pacific Rim 4g shield I had for my old iPod, with a few improvements. No leather, no silicone, no problem. If this won't fit the 80 giggers, then hopefully they'll release an 80gb model soon. I might actually wait for it.

To update you guys, the 80gb's fit into the 60gb cases, and if you want the silver case, the click wheel protector comes in any color you want as long as it's black.

Can any one suggest a FM transmitter that will work and sound good with this case? I have tried using the Griffin Itrip Auto and the sound of the transmitter is really weak.

Will this case fit into the universal adaptors? I'm looking at either the iHome or XtremeMac alarm clocks and want a case that will be compatible.

Just got this yesterday after researching dozens of cases, and I'm really pleased. It looks sleek and feels really durable and solid. The iPod on its own felt so fragile, this is a nice addition. I have heard that the plastic front screen is prone to scratching/dulling, so I'm keeping the screen protection sticker on that was included as part of the packaging.

Two additional benefits:

1. the controls are now more tactile than the bare iPod - one of my worries in switching from an old iRiver to an iPod was that I wouldn't be able to control the thing without having to look at it. the rubber clickwheel has little depressions for the control points, so I can leave the thing in my pocket (it still fits even with the case on) and still change the volume, scan or advance a track.

2. because it uses a standard round adapter for the belt clip, it fits perfectly with a clip I added to my dashboard years ago for an old cell phone I no longer have - so now I have a built in car adapter too!

highly recommended, in my less than 24 hours of use.
