I personally have the case and I would rate it more than a C+. I does protect the shuffle and it lessens the ability of the USB or lanyard cap from coming off. The case is made fairly well, sll the holes line up,etc.

I've got the white one and I'm very pleased with it so far. It is more fashion than protection (it does look cooler than the Apple Sport Case albeit not nearly as protective). As for comparisons, where are the Vaja and Piel Frama cases anyway? Sure they'll probably be nicer, but they'll probably cost 3x what this case goes for. For many, the lanyard is too geeky to wear w/o something like this to "dress it up" a bit. For a flash player, I won't spend $30+ on an accessory like I would for my Mini. As for cost, I got mine on Ebay from PodsPlus and was very pleased with my $15 purchase. This is a solid B in my book.

Value means so many things to different people -- for example, this $15 C+ product is a better choice for me than the $40 A- Miyavix fashion case for iPods made from kimono fabric.
I purchased mine from PodsPlus on eBay and was pleasantly surprised by the look and feel of this little leather case. Like other folks here, I would have given it a better grade.
It's good that iPodlounge continues to clarify its case reviewing criteria (form vs. function, or both) -- and don't envy them the task!

I use an Altoids case. Total cost: $2.00CDN. And it provides tin protection.

Thanks for the comments. The goal of an iPodlounge review is to give you the information you need to make an informed choice for yourself, and present our opinion having seen numerous other options.
As noted at the beginning of the review, if you're looking for a decorative "case" only - and assuming you like the look of this decoration - this case may well suit your needs. But many people won't buy cases that aren't protective, and our grades take their needs into account too.
