Rivet iGrab | iLounge

well they are pretty cool looking..but they look a little weak, like they won't be able to hold a full-sized iPod, it looks as though it would slip out the front. hmm..pretty cool though, good design

I have been using the rivet system with my iPod for about 5 months now and I love it.

But, I don't like these holsters.

I use the rivet beltloop and car mount with a silicon jacket, an Evo3, but it ripped in cleaning, so I am getting another brand. I poke a hole in the back to accomodate the mounted post. I have never had the post pull off and the dask mount works extreemly well.

I looked at the holsters again. Might be okay. I had a belkin and the iPod poppeed out the top 3 times, which is why I went to the Rivet system.

The top lip on the rivet holster might stop the iPod from popping out.

I've been using it for months with the 60gb iPod video with no problem, but that is the slimmer model of course. The clip holds rock solid, and the leather "grabber" is great for the video iPod.

Two suggestions: Be sure to follow directions on the adhesive and let it set for 24 hours, because the clip is SO strong that the adhesive will give way before the clip will if you pull too hard.

For other components (like your cell phone, etc) Krazy Glue is not a bad idea for setting the "ball pin thingie" on the back of your case.

Second suggestion: there is something called a universal pin, which is a hinged "ball pin thingie" which works much better than the stumpie one you see up above on the iGrab for most devices. The little one makes most devices assume a "bowing before you" position, while the hinged universal one lets them hang upright.
