Does this automatically pause the ipod when the car shuts off (or power is cut)?

This product has been on xtrememacs website for a while but is on backorder?? After sending an email to them, they expect the product to ship in late april / early may 2006. This is the final piece I need to complete my mobile video solution.....

Can this be used with a Gen 4 ipod for audio only (i.e. leaving the video plug unused)?
Thanks

There are other devices that will pass the audio directly to the car's stereo and provide charging. This is hardly unique. Try the iPod2Car, for example. It works with stereos that don't have external inputs AND gives you some control from the steering wheel buttons, in many cases.

I was so excited about this product I ran and purchased the RoadShow from the Apple Store over in Costa Mesa. But I believe the cable I purchased is bad because I get an annoying distortion from the cable when I connect the RCA cables to my Car Stereo. I know it is the cable because up to now I have always used Sendsation's Line out Dock without any feedback. I just sent an email to XtremeMac so we shall see what happens. Just be aware there might be a possible bad batch out there or I could have just been one in a million who got unlucky and purchased the one bad cable. It's so frustrating....

This product is GREAT. I highly recommend it if you are looking for a mobile audio/video solution. To answer a question above - this device does not automatically pause your iPOD when you unplug it, nor does it turn your iPOD on when you attach it...no big deal I prefer to manually turn my iPOD on and off.

Update on my earlier dilemma:
Let me start by expressing that XtremeMac customer service is very satisfactory. They sent me a replacement in a couple of weeks and I returned what I believe to be a defective cable. Unfortunately, and not to my surprise, the new cable also gives me the high static feedback when ever the charger is plug in my car. Though I am a reasonable man to acknowledge that it might be my car that is causing the feedback, the fact of the matter is that prior to this cable no other video set up that I previously had ever game me this type of feedback. This is why I would appreciate any feedback from anyone else who has purchased this cable to see how other people have tested the cable. The cable does have a lifetime guarantee so if ever it is discovered that maybe it was the cable itself I at least know I am covered. So for now I listen to my ipod when I am not charging it, which cuts down the feedback significantly.
Case Close - for now....
(4 out of 5 stars in my ipod rating book.)

If you are more experience with audio installs and wiring i suggest you get Peripherals PXP01V Universal Adapter Cable for iPod. It has the same functions, its cheaper, and it gets rid of that ugly charger plug.

Not sure why you'd get the Peripherals PXP01V Universal Adapter Cable instead of the XtremeMac RoadShow reviewed here --- same price and you don't need to use the charger if you don't want; just tuck it away.
At any rate, for noise problems using a car charger consider using a ground loop isolator or tying the cig-lighter's ground to the radio's ground.
As for myself, I don't have a Video iPod so I'm considering Belkin's Auto Kit http://catalog.belkin.com/IWCatProductPage.process?Product_Id=149006
It's $10 less and will pause the iPod when power is cut. You'd still have an audio cable dangling from the charger part but not if you hide it all, and you'd still only have just the Dock connector showing ...

Since the dock connector is a bit large, would it fit when using a iSkin Evo3 silicon cover?
Thanks

I also have the iSkin eVo3, I have the limited edition in black and red
but anyways, can anybody please verify if the connector will still fit with no problems with the iSkin?
