I like these hewn billet pieces as a machine is instructed to carve out the design with an assigned level of precision. What I do not like is the hand-cut felt lining adhered to the inner shell. Because precision demands precision the use of removing an Allen head fastener to affix the carabiner and tether is done so without making provision for the additional thickness piece that the fastener passes through thereby raising it inappropriately and breaking the design. Since one can position the carabiner to any of the six fasteners would it not have been better to supply six washers the thickness of the carabineer retaining piece to replace said washer leaving the head of all fasteners flush with the face of the case? The split ring to the fastener will surely season the case wherever it rubs; perhaps a smaller swivel joint might do the job better with less case damage? The recessed fluting on the back of the case is a nice touch.
