Though it's more expensive than the vast majority of iPad sling-style bags we've previously looked at, Tom Bihn's Ristretto for iPad ($110) is also one of the most handsome and well-equipped, with obvious care taken to select high-quality materials and components. Notably sized specifically for the iPad, as contrasted with larger and more expensive versions designed for laptops, the ballistic nylon Ristretto for iPad has a large central compartment with a dedicated padded iPad holder, sealed with a passive top flap; there's space within the same compartment for a bunch of accessories or a camera. Outside on the front are a zippered pocket and an open pocket that's internally divided into four smaller areas, one for pencils or pens, matched by an outside rear open pocket with enough space to hold either a pad or a water bottle loosely. A neat asymmetrical top flap clasps shut to cover all of the pockets save for the one in back, and a padded shoulder strap attaches or detaches with strong metal lobster claw hooks to the sides of the bag. Tom Bihn includes an ID tag and three zippered cash, ID, or other small accessory holders, each capable of being attached or detached from the bag, and offers Ristretto for iPad in six color combinations.
