First Look: Cygnett Crystal, Glam, Lavish + Snaps Duo Cases for iPhone 4
To merely say that we're unenthusiastic about Cygnett's lineup of iPhone 4 cases would be accurate but insufficient to explain our continued distaste for generic OEM products, so here goes: Cygnett's Lavish ($30) and Glam ($30) cases offer cheap-looking perforated lambskin and patent leather bodies with the inconvenient flip-style designs we've avoided for years, here with poor volume button protectors and plain holes for all of iPhone 4's other features. The company's Crystal ($25) is an utterly bland transparent plastic shell with minimal molding effort on the top and bottom, a tightly cut camera and flash hole, and film as the only protection for the iPhone 4's face. Then there's Snaps Duo ($19), a set of two crappy-looking, poorly tailored rubber frames that are even more minimalist and loose than Apple's Bumpers, aided only by the inclusion of both front and back protective film. Together, this collection of cases constitutes the last set of generic flip, bumper, and rear shell options we intend to profile for the iPhone 4; considerably better designs are going to be necessary before we take the time to photograph and write about similar options.
