Developed as an alternative to the standard $80 ANT+ dongle for use with various types of fitness sensors, Wahoo's new Fisica Sensor Case ($120) combines an ANT+ adapter with a water-resistant hard plastic shell, a soft rubber interior liner, and clear screen and camera protectors. The concept here is to provide bicyclers with a protective mounting solution for their iPhone 3G/3GS or iPhone 4 models, sealing the device inside a case that can be attached when needed to a bike mounting bracket with safety ties and a rubber pad, or detached for micro-USB recharging and data synchronization. Wahoo also plans to offer an optional battery pack with four hours of additional juice for those who need the extra power on the road. It's an interesting concept for frequent bikers in need of using the iPhone to monitor their bike speed and cadence with the company's separately sold sensor, though the mechanics of getting the iPhone in and out of the case will be a limiting factor for some people.
