Representing both the good and bad design tendencies of Ozaki are two new "love 'em or hate 'em" accessories for the iPhone 4: iCoat Facetime ($26) and iCoat Lover ($50). We'll praise the frequently over-the-top company for the semi-bright idea behind iCoat Lover, a set of two iPhone 4 rear shells designed to be used at the same time by a couple; like necklaces and bracelets from years past, each case has half of a heart that gets unified when the iPhones are placed next to each other, face down. The hearts are high-gloss red metallic, and the cases are exceedingly simple matte white or black plastic shells, but they're appropriately timed for Valentine's Day and wrapped in a package with a bow. Then there's iCoat Facetime, a block of rubber shaped to serve as a passive audio amplifier and stand for an unencased iPhone 4. The block we were sent for consideration looks like a DJ station, but there are other, weirder versions including a sawed-in-half gingerbread man, an angly hippo-like creature, Lego-like blocks, and twin horns jutting out of a platform. While we could almost understand the last of the designs, it's hard to imagine that there are many people using iPhone 4's without cases these days, and the whole cheap rubber block stand idea is pretty iffy at a price like that.
