First Look: Griffin TuneFlex AUX for iPod / for iPod nano
Available in two versions - TuneFlex AUX and TuneFlex AUX for iPod nano - this rebranding and modest retooling of Griffin's earlier TuneFlex car mounting, charging, and audio-out accessories brings updated support for second-generation iPod nanos, different goosenecks, and a bundling change. Whereas the standard TuneFlex today comes bundled with a cassette tape adapter, TuneFlex AUX comes only with a minijack-to-minijack audio cable, and is designed to be used with newer car stereos' line-in ports. The full-sized TuneFlex AUX resizes its large cradle to accommodate full-sized iPods and, with an included adapter, second-generation nanos; the iPod nano-specific version looks perfect with the second-generation nano and acceptable with the first-generation model.
Both TuneFlex AUX versions have updated goosenecks; the model specifically for iPod nano has a slightly longer gooseneck than the standard AUX. They preserve their predecessors’ pass-through Dock Connector ports for use with iTrips, AirClicks, and other iPod accessories, and have bottom-mounted switches to adjust audio levels for line-out or cassette adapter use.
