Substantially similar to Elgato's prior EyeTV 250, the EyeTV 250 Plus ($200) combines improved reception analog and over-the-air HDTV tuning hardware with the new ability to receive Clear QAM (unencrypted) digital cable TV. Unlike the smaller EyeTV Hybrid, EyeTV 250 Plus has roughly the same footprint as a full-sized iPod, and a metal/plastic enclosure that matches the styling of the Mac mini. The back of the Plus has a coaxial connector for attachment to a cable line, a USB port for an included cable, and a port for connection to an included and required power supply, while the front has a detachable video input port for connection to analog devices, and an IR sensor that links to an included remote control for channel tuning. It comes with the new, award-winning EyeTV 3 software for tuning and recording TV programs on your Mac.
