[Editors' Note: On November 1, 2006, iLounge published The 2007 iPod Buyers' Guide, with more than 30 brand new, capsule-sized product reviews - only for products we considered to be amongst the very best we've seen throughout the year. The short review below is excerpted from the Guide, which you can download here.]

iHome’s iH31 was pretty good when it was originally released as iH30 (iLounge rating: B), a same-looking speaker system with integrated FM radio, plastic shielded iPod and original shuffle docks, and both wall and car chargers in the box. Then iHome dropped the price by $20 and threw in a 15-button Infrared remote control, complete with access to iH31’s six FM preset stations - both nice improvements. As with iThunder, the four-inch drivers inside aren’t audiophile quality, but for the price and given its eight C-cell portability, it’s a solid option with good sound, and now available in white, black or silver.

A Note From the Editors of iLounge: Though all products and services reviewed by iLounge are "final," many companies now make changes to their offerings after publication of our reviews, which may or may not be reflected above. This iLounge article provides more information on this practice, known as revving.
