[Editors' Note: On November 1, 2006, iLounge published The 2007 iPod Buyers' Guide, with more than 30 brand new, capsule-sized product reviews - only for products we considered to be amongst the very best we've seen throughout the year. The short review below is excerpted from the Guide, which you can download here.]

Flip-open cases come and go, but Noreve’s Tradition series carries on. An improved update of the company’s first-generation nano Tradition, the new version opens from the bottom, uses a simple magnetic sealing system, and protects most of the new nano’s body without becoming cumbersome. High-quality, soft leather comes in nine different colors, each with a metal front accent and detachable rear belt clip and nub system.

Note that the Hold switch, headphone port, and small pieces of the other side corners are exposed, but otherwise, the case offers comprehensive front, back, top, bottom, and side protection. There’s also a metal cover for the rear nub screw hole.
A Note From the Editors of iLounge: Though all products and services reviewed by iLounge are "final," many companies now make changes to their offerings after publication of our reviews, which may or may not be reflected above. This iLounge article provides more information on this practice, known as revving.
