When it comes to USB cables, Apple only gives you one option in terms of length. Scosche's has a solution in the form of extendIT 3-Foot USB Extension Cable ($15) -- a 6-foot model is available for $20. It's an incredibly straight forward cable: one end has a female USB port, the other a male plug. You can connect your Apple USB to Dock Connector cable to it for longer-distance charging and syncing; it can obviously be used with any other USB cable, too. While the extension shouldn't impact iPod or iPhone charging, full-speed iPad charging may slow down a little.
