As simple as it might seem in concept, SwitchEasy's Vulcan for iPad ($30) turns out to be really quite impressive in execution. The clear- or smoke black-colored soft plastic case has a gentle X shape on its back, frosted on the sides and glossy in the center. The result is a really neat accentuation of the iPad's rear Apple logo without any cheesy cutouts, complemented by full side and button coverage, nicely beveled switch, port, and speaker/microphone holes, and a perfect front bezel shield. Screen film, two stands, port covers, and a cleaning cloth are included in each package. Particularly given the aggressive price, we'd call this a "worth more than the sum of its parts" design.
