Affordable Ultimate Ears? We almost couldn’t believe it, either, but that’s what the super.fi series offers, depending on your definition of “affordable.” The super.fi 5 EB model ($200) is made for extended bass, and delivers. By comparison with the super.fi 5 Pro (iLounge rating: A-), which we’ve reviewed separately, you’ll take a hit on detail with the EB version, and also find their bigger bodies impossible to hide in your ears, but if you’re looking for thump, they’re superb - noticeably better than the FS1s or iM716s.
A Note From the Editors of iLounge: Though all products and services reviewed by iLounge are "final," many companies now make changes to their offerings after publication of our reviews, which may or may not be reflected above. This iLounge article provides more information on this practice, known as revving.
