From United SGP comes another Smart Cover-compatible shell for the iPad 2: Harmonie ($33). Unlike the company's Griff, this one isn't made of leather but rather is a more conventional hard plastic. Coverage isn't bad, but there are some areas which could be more protected. Along the top, right, and bottom edges there are openings for the inputs and outputs, while a thin strip of the tablet's aluminum back is left exposed on each side. Instead of being left fully open, there is a series of holes over the speaker that provide some protection. Most unique about this case is the possibly trademark-infringing Apple logo-shaped cutout on the back. It frames the symbol better than the circular holes some companies use, but leaves the logo open to scratches and dings; SGP, please stop leaving holes back here already. Currently black and silver models are available, but twelve shades will be offered in the future.
