Urban Armor Gear has ventured into the wallet case category with its new Trooper ($40). Looking much like a typical UAG case, Trooper has a door on the back which opens to reveal a wallet area; the case can hold up to four cards. The door snaps shut securely, to ensure that you won't find your credit cards flying out at some point. Despite the wallet addition, the case feels mostly like a normal iPhone case, with proper button coverage for the sleep/wake button and volume controls. The rubber-and-plastic Trooper comes in black, white, or UAG's orange "rust" color.

Though there’s a bit of added bulk on Trooper as compared to UAG’s more straightforward Composite Case, this wallet case still manages to be pretty light. We think Trooper’s design is preferable to many of its competitors, which often tuck a few cards inside a folio flap. This doesn’t even look like a wallet case, really, which may be appealing to some users concerned about theft. Considering that Trooper can securely store four cards without sacrificing any protection — and while still maintaining its lightweight feel — we think UAG’s reasonably priced offering is one of the very best wallet case options for iPhone 6/6s.

Update: We later received the iPhone 6/6s Plus version of the case. The Plus Trooper is $5 more expensive and the bulk is more noticeable on the larger iPhone, but we feel the case is still effective enough to earn the same high recommendation.
