5 Things to Keep in Mind Before Buying a Graphics Card

If you are a gaming lover or an expert of graphics, you might end up upgrading your graphics card often. Even though the processors like AMD Ryzen series are much better at providing higher graphics but still having a dedicated graphics card is a must. For gamers, the better and higher frame rate is mandatory while the graphics experts need to work on advanced video rendering, and both require a dedicated graphics card. Well choosing a card can be difficult but luckily there are experts who share the best in the specific price segment, for example, Best GPU under 500 or best graphics card under $1000.

Things to Know Before Buying a Graphics Card

So, in this article, we are going to guide you about things that you should keep in mind while purchasing a graphics card.

5 Things to Keep in Mind Before Buying a Graphics Card

1. Performance is not Cheap

Graphics card is a luxury that not everyone can afford even though there are a lot of used GPUs being sold, but their performance might not be excellent. It’s a universal rule more you pay more quality product you’ll get. The performance is a thing that inevitably comes at the cost, and by spending more fortune, you’ll be able to get the maximum frame rate and resolution support. It is a simple thing a $500 GPU can’t provide the performance that a $1000 Graphics card can.

2. Space Issue for Cooling

Graphics card produces heat when they work, and proper cooling system is mandatory for the higher-end graphics card. The GPU are expensive and keeping them cool also improves their lifetime and affects performance too. We recommend having a proper case with a lot of exits for heat is better with a suitable cooling system installed. Having a large or medium tower case is a plus point to provide enough cooling for not just for your GPU but also for your computer’s processor and other stuff.

3. Why Do you Need a Graphics Card?

There are a lot of graphics cards in the market that may confuse you, so having an idea of model numbers, proprietary tech of each vendor makes a huge impact on your decision. So, having prior knowledge and precise requirements are plus point here. Just be sure of your requirements and why do you need a graphics card this will help you decide faster and with fewer choices to confuse you. For example, if you’d like to play a high-end game like The Witcher 3 on maximum settings look at the requirements of the game to have an idea about GPU that you’ll be needing.

4. VRAM of GPU

There are many things to keep in mind when purchasing a Graphics card and RAM of the graphic card is one that comes at the top because it impacts the performance of the GPU. The more RAM you have on GPU more it will be able to carry and process. More RAM is also directly proportional to higher framerate and better graphics, so higher RAM in your GPU the better.

5. Types of Graphics Card

Well, mainly these are categorized into two categories reference cards and non-reference cards the reference cards. The reference cards are sold by companies like AMD and Nvidia to directly consumers while un-reference cards are those that are sold to companies which makes modification in Cards and then sell them to consumers. Reference cards usually have one cooling fan which throws the hot air at the back of the case. While un-reference cards typically have two or three fans and throw hot air into your computer’s case and need a more efficient cooling system in your PC. However, un-reference cards are better in terms of performance and quieter cooling. Mostly cooling is the only part that is modified in un-reference graphics cards.

Hopefully, now you have an idea how to choose a graphics card if you think of any tip that is not aforementioned let us know in the comment section below.
