Famisafe: Every Home’s No cyberbullying tool

Facts – According to ditchelabel.org, 5.43 million young people in the United Kingdom have been victims of cyberbullying, with 1.26 million people suffering from extreme cyberbullying on a daily basis.

Wait! It’s not just a UK problem. According to a study carried out by OFCOM in 2018, 1 in 8 young people all over the world have been bullied online. In fact, the National Crime Prevention Council believes that the figure is far higher, stating that a massive 43% of children globally have experienced cyberbullying.

Well, with the increasing number of young people with access to smartphones and the internet, one shouldn’t be surprised at the figures outlined above. Smart gadgets and reliable internet have their benefits for young people. It has improved their learning and access to information, endless entertainment, and networking options.

Effects

However, wrapped up in this whole positive activity is the ‘faceless evil’ of cyberbullying. A situation where victims get threatening or harmful messages that causes serious damage to their emotions and psyche. Sometimes, the consequences of cyberbullying could be fatal as there have been cases of young people who have committed suicide as a result of cyberbullying.

Cyberbullying is something you should worry about if you have children or teens in your home. Although some countries have cyberbullying strong laws and penalties, some other countries do not. Even in places where these cyberbullying laws exist, cyberbullying is still increasing on a daily basis as there is little or nothing one can do to contain the activities of a young person online.

Solution

Since cyberbullying is a technology problem, it won’t be out of place to pursue nocyberbullying using technology.  The best way to truly protect your kids on the internet is to use a parental monitoring tool. This has proven to be more effective than just depending on law enforcement. There are various technology tools parents can use to monitor and control their children’s activities on the internet. One of the tools that easily comes to mind is Famisafe.

Famisafe

Famisafe is a mobile app that parents can use to achieve nocyberbullying in their homes. If you are concerned about the safety of your kid, then you just have to try Famisafe and this is why.

GPS Tracking – with the Famisafe mobile App on your phone, you can track your kid’s location in real-time. This means that you wouldn’t have to be worried about the whereabouts of your child when he or she is out of sight. This will enable you to prevent the kid from wandering into danger.

Mobile App Usage – teenagers use a lot of mobile apps especially the ones related to social media. Most of the cyberbullying activities are carried out on these social media channels. Famisafe will help you achieve nocyberbullying by helping you set up time periods when certain apps will be blocked on your child’s phone. This means that your child will not get to spend so much time on these sites. The less time your child spends on social media, the closer you are to achieving the nocyberbullying goal in your home.

Web Content Monitoring – There is too much information available on the internet, some of which are very harmful to your child. Famisafe enables you to find out which site your child is visiting. That way, you will know the information they are consuming and block harmful sites.

Remote Monitoring – The interesting feature of Famisafe is that you can do all of the above without touching your child’s phone. So you don’t need to worry about making your child uncomfortable.

Famisafe is a subscription-based app launched by trusted technological giants Wondershare in support of the nocyberbullying campaign.
