How Technology Could Help You to Sell Your Home Quickly

When it comes to selling property, the first thing we tend to think of is “estate agent”. This is because estate agencies have always been the traditional way of selling your home in the property market – everybody knows that. However, it’s not often that the first thing you think of is “technology”, when in fact, it really should be.

How Technology Could Help You to Sell Your Home Quickly

The advancement of technology in the last ten years is unbelievable – and if we hadn’t seen it ourselves, we probably wouldn’t understand it. Along with technologies advancement has come the evolution of how we conduct and complete mundane every day tasks. You can do pretty much anything online now, from shopping to selling – which is why the property industry has without doubt followed suit. But how can technology help you in the task of selling your home quickly?  Today we’re going to explore exactly that.

    You Can Literally Sell Online

Okay, so first things first it makes sense to start with the big one. You can quite literally sell your house online these days.

From online estate agents and quick sale companies to a free house valuation app, the possibilities for selling property over the internet are wider than ever before.

Let’s start by taking about online estate agents. Some of these companies are a hybrid between being online and in person, and some are solely on the internet – so it’s best to check this out before committing to any individual one. The great thing about them is that they offer a variety of packages, so there’s bound to be one to fit your needs somewhere along the line. There are premium listings and standard listings, sure, but pretty much every single one of these will include floor plans, professional photographs and well written property descriptions by the professionals. With the vast majority of people buying property now admitting that the first place they look is the internet, it’s no bad thing to have online estate agents on your side nowadays.

And next, we move on to quick sale companies. A lot of these companies work exclusively online, and boast to buy property quicker than any other type of organisation. These companies will value your home for free – and you even have access to their valuation app – and are likely to buy it from you and have the money in your account in as little as seven days. They’re a saving grace for a lot of people who find themselves in a situation where they’re desperately in need of ridding themselves of a property.

The only thing we say – is exercise with caution. Selling your house is no small deal because it’s likely to be your biggest asset, so make sure you treat it as so. For every good and well reputed company, there’s another one out there who are fraudulently trying to make quick cash, and who may not even buy the property directly. As with anything, do your research and make sure you’re going with someone who you can trust. So long as you do that, you’re safe to proceed with your online sales.

It Can Improve Your Home’s EPC

Nowadays, when selling your home, by law you have to provide an Energy Performance Certificate – or EPC. This is a scale that evaluates how energy efficient your home is on a scale from A to E – with A being the best case scenario, and E the worst. These have a huge effect on the selling of your home because they’re an indicator to potential buyers of how much they’re likely to have to spend on their energy bills per month.

Having a smart thermostat installed in your home can improve even the lowest energy efficiency rating. These thermostats certainly are smart, because they use sensors to ensure a room is temperate when it’s inhabited. Never again will you have to leave your heating on while you’re at work to make sure your home doesn’t freeze in the Winter.

    It’s Generally More Appealing

Finally, having a smart home or so to speak generally makes it more appealing.

It could be that you have voice control lights, a smart thermostat or even a voice and video security system. All of these things make a property look more appealing to potential buyers, because of their modernity.

There’s nothing better than new trends and technologies to help you sell in today’s market, trust us. People love nothing more than the most up to date fads – so give it a try. You’ll probably even enjoy them yourself too.
