Longtime crypto expert Benji Taylor joins X as Head of Design

Social media platform X, owned by Elon Musk, has recently welcomed crypto veteran Benji Taylor as its new head of design.

This strategic move comes ahead of the anticipated launch of X Money, a feature designed to provide peer-to-peer payments and other financial tools, which has been capturing the attention of CryptoManiaks everywhere.

Longtime crypto expert Benji Taylor joins X as Head of Design

Benji Taylor’s exciting new role

Taylor, who has extensive experience with crypto wallets and blockchain platforms, expressed his excitement about the new role in a post on X.

He stated that he is “honoured” to join X and lead design, and is eager to work with Elon Musk, product lead Nikita Bier, and the rest of the team.

In his post, Taylor wrote:

“I believe this is the most important platform in the world, and I can’t think of a more exciting place to help shape the future. I’m grateful for the opportunity, humbled to be part of it, and can’t wait to get started!”

Elon Musk, in turn, reshared the post on his timeline, extending a warm welcome to Taylor.

Taylor’s crypto and product experience

Taylor brings a wealth of experience in crypto and product design to his new role. He is the founder of Los Feliz Engineering, a company that developed the self-custody wallet Family. Following Aave’s acquisition of Los Feliz Engineering, Taylor served as the chief product officer.

Most recently, Taylor led the design at Base, the blockchain network of Coinbase. His extensive experience and expertise in the crypto field make him a valuable addition to the X team.

X expands into financial services

Taylor’s appointment comes at a crucial time when X is gearing up to expand its financial services. Earlier this month, Elon Musk announced plans to launch X Money, a feature that will offer peer-to-peer payments, bank deposits, a debit card, and cashback features across the US.

In addition to these services, the platform has also hinted at plans to offer returns on user balances. However, details about this feature are still limited.

The appointment of Benji Taylor as the head of design at X marks a significant step in the platform’s journey towards expanding its financial services.

With his extensive experience in crypto and product design, Taylor is well-positioned to help shape the future of X and its upcoming features. As the platform prepares for the launch of X Money, Taylor’s expertise will undoubtedly be instrumental in ensuring its success.
