Belkin’s WeMo home-automation family continues to grow, with three new products shown at CES. Two—Crock-Pot Smart Slow Cooker with WeMo ($99) and LED Smart Bulbs ($129)—will be available in March, while Maker is still in a development phase. All three offer control from your iOS device.
The LED Smart Bulbs comes in a two-pack, along with a controller that plugs into a wall outlet. They can be dimmed, or set up with IFTTT rules, and also have motion detectors that can relay information back to your iPhone. Additional bulbs are available for $50 each.
Partnering with the most famous slow cooker, Belkin brings the ability to control the temperature and get alerts when your food is done, all from an iOS device. At about twice the price of a standard Crock-Pot, your paying for the WeMo capabilities.
Not in a final form yet, Maker is a solution for getting non-WeMo devices onto the system, with suggestions such as sprinklers and garage door openers.
