Huckleberry came to the 2013 CES with a new collection of iPhone cases that immediately caught our attention. The good news: the lineup of DC and Marvel Comics Chara-Covers ($35 each) includes some of the best-looking 3-D molded cases we’ve seen, featuring multiple colors, cute cartoony versions of classic characters, and reasonable iPhone protection. Bad news: they’re only for the iPhone 4/4S, not the iPhone 5—at least for now. Some of the cases are apparently planned for availability in January, others for April.

DC Comics characters on display included Superman, Batman, Batgirl, Wonder Woman, Harley Quinn, and The Joker. Batgirl comes in at least two color variations, including a purple version not shown here.

Marvel’s characters tended to focus on familiar Avengers — Captain America, Spider-Man, Iron Man, and Thor among them — but also included Wolverine and Venom.

While a lot of time has been spent getting the back of each case right, the fronts are relatively open — think particularly thick rubber shells. But the cases let iPhones stand upright.
