Computer and tablet security system maker Noble Locks used the 2014 CES to preview an upcoming digital combination lock (est. $50-$70), which in addition to a traditional key-based unlocking system will be capable of being digitally unlocked using a computer or iOS device—just connect a USB cable to the lock, send over the password, and the lock will open.

The company suggests that the digital lock will be useful for IT departments managing multiple computers — an unauthorized or authorized user who wants to unlock the computer’s lock will be able to contact the IT department and request an unlocking code from afar.
