I’ve read that a lot of Firewire cards for PCs don’t work with the iPod.  What are some cards that [I]do[/I] work?

For the most part, the hands down winner is the Adaptec 4300.  This card typically always works.  Orangelink cards from OrangeMicro are good as well.  Typically, any generic card with the VIA chipset will work OK.
