Belkin’s Travel RockStar ($60) is a battery pack + surge-protected charger. Designed to be a go-to option for travelers, Travel RockStar packs a 3000 mAh USB battery into its blocky frame. Two three-prong surge-protected outlets are included, in addition to a 2A USB output port. A battery meter is located near the USB port. Foldable wall prongs keep the accessory more compact, though no cables are included. Belkin offers a $75,000 connected equipment warranty for “properly connected” devices plugged in to Travel RockStar.
Travel RockStar has a footprint similar to an iPhone 6/6s, but it’s obviously much thicker. Unlike an accessory such as SwitchEasy’s PowerAmp, Travel RockStar makes a bit more sense for those traveling with MacBooks and other electronics which can’t be charged via USB cables, but the included USB battery provides added versatility.
