Braven’s BRV-PRO is one of the most versatile Bluetooth speakers we’ve ever seen, and that versatility is further bolstered by the speaker’s own ecosystem of accessories. We recently received the BRV-PRO Battery Pack ($50), a 3800 mAh battery that is added onto the top of BRV-PRO to extend the speaker’s battery life from an already strong 15 hours to an almost unheard of 40 hours of playtime “at normal listening levels.” Just like the speaker itself, BRV-PRO Battery Pack is IPX7-waterproof.
Installing BRV-PRO Battery Pack only takes a few minutes. The pack comes with a micro-USB cable for recharging, and a small hex key, which is used to remove the BRV-PRO’s top plate.

After unscrewing that plate, two included screws hold the battery pack on tight — the pack itself links to a connector on top of the speaker. A separate power button is found on top of the battery pack, and four LEDs also clearly denote remaining battery level. A small micro-USB port on the back recharges the battery.

We contacted Incipio, and the company said the micro-USB port is indeed waterproof. Also, the battery and speaker can both be recharged separately, but while the battery pack is being recharged, it can also recharge the speaker when connected.
