Gear4’s Piccadilly ($40) and Soho ($40) are two new cases for the iPhone 7 that, thanks to the company’s use of D3O material, provide military-grade drop protection while remaining more stylish and unobtrusive compared to a lot of other drop-proof cases we’ve seen.
Piccadilly is a slim-fitting case with an entirely clear polycarbonate back designed to show off your iPhone 7, and colored D3O material on the inside bumpers, available in five colors designed to match the iPhone, including the new (PRODUCT)RED version. Soho is similarly-constructed, retaining the mostly clear polycarbonate back, but replacing the clear bumpers with TPU material in either black, gloss black, or silver, again with D3O material inside that’s designed to match the iPhone colors. Both cases provide full button coverage and bottom protection, meaning you’ll face some of the usual dock compatibility problems you’d have with any case that includes protection on the Lightning port end. Both Piccadilly and Soho are attractive cases that hold an iPhone 7 snugly, the buttons feel responsive, and the case definitely feels solid and protective, yet still comfortable.
