Incipio has updated its Faraday folio case for the 10.5” iPad Pro. The new version is basically an update of the 2015 Faraday for iPad Air 2, featuring the same basic design elements as the prior one, but sized for the larger 10.5” iPad Pro.
Available in three color options, Faraday is made from vegan leather and features a fold-over magnetic clasp design that we rather liked, and it also adds the bonus of protecting the rear iPad Pro camera when closed.
The iPad Pro snaps into a polycarbonate hard shell for protection, and while the plastic shell doesn’t provide any button coverage to speak of, the fold-over clasp somewhat obviates the need for it by covering the outer edge when the case is closed. The case can also be used as a stand in the usual upright viewing or typing positions, and the left edge of the shell also remains open to provide compatibility with Smart Connector keyboards.
Unfortunately, while Faraday remains a solid choice for those looking for folio cases, we were a bit disappointed to discover that despite the magnetic closure on the clasp, the cover itself doesn’t include sleep/wake magnets.
