Just Mobile has introduced three new USB cables with built-in versatility — AluCable Duo, AluCable Duo mini, and AluCable Duo twist. The “Duo” in the name comes from the functionality, as all three cables can charge devices via Lightning or micro-USB — an attached Lightning plug can be linked to the micro-USB plug for iOS device charging.
AluCable Duo and Duo mini are out now, while Duo twist will be released in the near future.
AluCable Duo is slightly longer than 5’, while AluCable Duo mini is an 18” cable best suited for charging from battery packs.
We tried both plugs on each cable, and they all worked without a hitch, charging Lightning devices and micro-USB input devices successfully. Considering Apple’s own tiny Lightning to Micro USB Adapter plug is $19, it’s easy to see the value in Just Mobile’s more elegant solution — an attached Lightning adapter means it won’t get lost, and as expected, Just Mobile’s cables have a nice aluminum finish on both ends.
