Although you can recharge your AirPods using just about anything with a Lightning connector, if you’d like to have a proper home for Apple’s wireless earbuds, you may be interested in Oittm’s new AirPods Charging Dock. Designed specifically to both house, charge, and protect your encased AirPods, it features a soft silicone interior so that you can slide the AirPods case in without worrying about scratches, and provides a design aesthetic that matches that of the AirPods.
The bottom is made from an aluminum alloy, with a rubber base that ensures that the dock has some heft and won’t easily slide around. A 2.5-foot USB charging cable is attached, although you’ll have to provide your own USB power source, and an exterior indicator light displays charging status so you can tell when your AirPods are fully juiced up. The price is surprisingly reasonable for what it is, considering what a good Lightning cable alone costs, and although it lacks the versatility of a more generic Lightning dock, considering the price of Apple’s AirPods, we can see how some users will like the idea of a stylish dock to store and charge them.
