Pelican is best known for its line of ultra-rugged cases for transporting items such as high-end cameras, surveying equipment, and computers, and now the industry leader has taken it to a more intimate level with its nw line of Personal Utility Cases (PUC), beginning with the GO G40, small but tough case designed to protect your iPhone and other valuables when out in the field. Measuring 7 by 3.5 by 1.6 inches on the inside, the G40 is available in six different colors — Lime, White, Surf Blue, Slate, Blush, and Anthracite — and is IP67 rated to withstand all of the elements, from dust, dirt, and sand to submersion in up to 1.5 meters of water for up to 30 minutes.

Inside, there’s enough room to stow an encased iPhone, along with cables, earphones, credit cards, and other small accessories. A removable tray divides the case into two separate compartments to keep things organized, and includes two pockets for credit cards and a strap to tuck in a Lightning cable.

The case itself is solidly built, with a single-hinge latch that makes it really easy to open and close, and a ring on top suitable for carrying it or attaching it to a backpack. The outer shell is made from ABS plastic and is abrasion and impact proof to provide solid drop protection, and there’s even a pressure valve built-in to balance air pressure.
