Rareform’s iPhone 6/6s Case ($40) is truly unique — each of the company’s cases have a different look, as the back of the case features an original piece of reclaimed billboard, cut, washed, and sewn into a matte, rubbery polycarbonate shell. We don’t give full reviews to shell cases, as they don’t provide proper everyday protection for an iPhone. Nevertheless, some users are only considered with cases as a fashion accessory, which is why we feature shell cases in our Gear section.
As mentioned, what you see in these photos here — a red/orange, violet pattern on the back of the case — is not exactly what you’ll get. A brief review of currently available cases reveals a number of different patterns in various colors, some with seemingly random letters. Some users may be attracted to Rareform’s commitment to reusing old billboards, and our case does indeed look pretty cool. Rareform has a neat concept here. We just wish the company put that idea into a more protective iPhone case.
