One of the more interesting features of Spyder’s PowerShadow Battery Case for iPhone 6/6s Plus is the company’s PowerShadow Dock ($50) companion accessory.
While most battery cases will provide a micro USB port for charging your battery case and iPhone, Spyder has taken this a step farther by building a docking system into its battery case so that you can easily recharge your iPhone and battery case together just by dropping it into a dock on your desk or nightstand.
Even more appealing is that the PowerShadow Battery Case and Dock can not only recharge your batteries, but if you connect it to the USB port on your Mac or PC, you’ll even be able to sync and backup your iPhone to your computer through the battery case and the dock, without the need to remove your iPhone.
It’s a convenient design if you want to use the PowerShadow as your primary iPhone case, and it’s even more impressive when you consider that the case and dock connect using only four contact pins, rather than a micro-USB or Lightning connector, making it very easy to drop your encased iPhone into the dock and remove it when you’re ready to go.
