Available in Platinum, Graphite, and Crimson, designed to complement the various iPhone colors, the Monarch is surprisingly lightweight, but don’t let that fool you — Monarch provides five layers of protection, the highest of any of UAG’s cases, but still manages to feel great in the hand and provide a wide enough opening on the bottom for reasonable dock compatibility; it didn’t fit with every dock we put it up against, but fared better than most of the cases we’ve looked at that include bottom protection. The case is made from quality leather and includes a polycarbonate shear plate, alloy metal hardware, and a soft impact-resistant core. The edges are surrounded by a honeycomb traction grip so you’ll be able to keep a good hold on it, and full button coverage is provided and works very well. Monarch is UAG’s classic protection and design taken to the next level.
