Sneaky sneaky. That’s what you have to be in order to succeed in Digital Tribe’s latest Mac App Store release, Velvet Assassin ($3). Set in the fever dreams of a British secret agent in World War II, the game has you stealthily maneuvering around as you take out enemies. The scope and quality of the game are surprising giving its small-by-Mac-standards price tag.
Your character, Violette Summer, can use over 50 different techniques to take out her targets; at the same time, it’s always important to avoid the spotlights and guards. One really cool feature is the ability to slip into Morphine Mode, which gives you an advantage against your enemies. The whole thing is presented in third-person, with dynamically-lit 3-D graphics.
