Sometimes gamers want to sit down and solve puzzles, and sometimes they just want to blow up lots of baddies. Klei Entertainment’s Shank ($10) falls well inside the latter category. A port of the popular console title, it’s a 2-D side-scroller that’s designed to play somewhat like a graphic novel.
Klei describes Shank as an “over-the-top grindhouse game,” which means lots of blood and gore. It plays out over eight levels, each with its own boss battle, and also includes a two-player co-op mode. We like the way the graphics look, and it’s on sale right now for 70% off, making it even more appealing.
