We’ve never been shy about proclaiming our admiration for STM’s bags. For years, the company has been making some of the best carriers on the market, and our editors have used certain STM bags on a daily basis. Now it’s back with a brand new collection of bags called Annex, which we first previewed at the 2014 CES. There are four bags in the lineup, including Drifter Medium Laptop Backpack ($140). As far as laptop bags go, it has just about everything one could ask for. Designed for an “urban, fashion-oriented customer,” it looks quite nice and is plenty practical, too.
Coming in graphite, red, or olive colors, Drifter can hold any current MacBook in a padded pocket, plus a whole lot more. There are plenty of pockets on the outside, each equipped with huge YKK zipper pulls for a unique look. A pocket on the side is large enough to hold a one liter Nalgene bottle, which is super handy. Opening the top of the backpack reveals the laptop compartment, plus one for a tablet, and a few extra pockets, as well as a flip-down mesh holder. The fabric body feels great, as do all of the accents. It seems like a great choice for traveling.
