If you’re a hardcore Instagrammer, when you’re on your Mac, you may want a richer experience than what the Instagram website has to offer. Fortunately, Grids for Instagram ($5) by ThinkTime Creations has you covered with a full-featured Instagram client that provides a dedicated, high-resolution window into the social network. Now in its third version, Grids provides a sleek adaptive UI with full Retina Display support, and the latest update brings that Retina quality to the images themselves with high-resolution photo support.

Non-square photos and videos are also supported, and white space can be automatically trimmed from your photo view.

The “Popular” feed has also been improved to show you content targeted more specifically to your interests, while search has been expanded to include the ability to find photos and posts from specific locations. Grids can also be dynamically resized from a full-screen presentation right down to a corner widget, and four different layouts are available for viewing your feed, including a square “photos-only” presentation, a “brief” view that only provides basic information on each post, or a horizontal or vertical layout that includes the entire posts.

Further, not only can you view posts, but you can also fully engage in the Instagram network, with access to your feed, liked photos, popular photos, and even nearby photos based on your Mac’s location. Support is provided for liking and commenting on photos and videos, following people, and viewing user profiles. You can even search for people and hashtags, bookmark just about anything, and get notifications when new content is available.
