When it comes to multitasking, iOS is obviously more limited than OS X—it took until iOS 4 for the multitasking bar to arrive, along with the ability to hop between recently used apps. Developer Vlad Alexa’s AppsBar ($2) is now bringing a similar-looking feature to your laptop or desktop Mac, although the functionality is a bit different.
Instead of letting you move through other apps that are running concurrently, AppsBar displays the ones you’ve closed most recently at the top of your computer’s screen.
Just click on the icon in the menu bar and the try slides down. Want to remove one? Hold down until the x appears in the corner and click it away.
It’s a clever repurposing of some now-intuitive iOS user interface elements for the Mac.
