Alpine Electronics officially announced today it will offer aftermarket products compatible with Apple CarPlay. A Monday report noted Alpine would sell such a system, and today Alpine confirmed the existence of upcoming products.
The Alpine system will be an in-dash touch screen that incorporates CarPlay using a Lightning connector.
Alpine said the CarPlay-compatible products will be available in the U.S.
and Europe “later in 2014.” Models and pricing won’t be announced until the time of launch. The news comes on the same day Pioneer announced it will be incorporating CarPlay into some of its own existing in-dash systems.
