With the release of iOS 9 and watchOS 2 on the horizon, Apple has announced that it has updated its TestFlight program to allow developers to roll out internal test versions of native watchOS 2 apps along with apps that take advantage of the new App Thinning features in iOS 9.
The TestFlight platform allows developers to invite users to download official test versions of their apps before they are released on the App Store.
While the platform allows for both testers internal to the developer’s organization as well as broader external beta tests, these latest changes currently only apply to builds distributed to internal users.
