Apple is now apparently allowing developers to provide promo codes for in-app purchases, if a recent EA promotion is any indication. As pointed out by 148Apps.com, EA is offering a promo code for “10 free gold” within Real Racing 3, normally a $2 purchase.
Users must visit this link to take advantage of the free gold offer. It’s unclear if this is a one-time-only thing, or indicative of a new stance by Apple.
A policy shift would make it easier for reviewers and others to access more in-app content.
