Apple has updated its iPhone service pricing page with new battery service rates for the 2018 iPhone lineup along with the rates for older iPhones that will take effect in 2019 when Apple’s $29 battery replacement program ends. While iPhones that are covered under warranty or AppleCare+ will continue to receive eligible battery replacements for free, battery replacement for the new iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, iPhone XR, and 2017 iPhone X will cost $69, although the iPhone X continues to be covered under the $29 battery replacement program until Dec.
31, 2018, along with Apple’s iPhone SE, iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus, iPhone 8, and iPhone 8 Plus. After Dec.
31, 2018, however, the battery replacement costs for these iPhone models will only go up to $49. Battery replacement for older iPhone models will continue to be charged at the original $79 rate.
