In a simple two-sentence statement, TomTom confirmed that its partnership to provide Apple with maps and related information has been extended, but provided no further details.
TomTom has been partnered with Apple since 2012, the same year Apple fired its own internal manager in charge of Maps for iOS 6.
Apple recently announced the acquisition of GPS firm Coherent Navigation, which could be another move to bolster the features of Maps.
