The application for “oleophobic coating on sapphire” reveals a component that would feature a surface coating and transition layer on top of a sapphire glass base layer, which may be “a window for a portable electronic device.”
A described method would allow fingerprint-repelling oleophobic coating to be used on top of the sapphire glass.
