Apple CEO Tim Cook announced on Twitter that Apple will be making a donation for the ongoing fire relief efforts in Northern and Southern california. Dry and windy weather has led to a series of major forest fires in the company’s home state, which have burned upwards of 70,000 acres and forced residents in several areas to be evacuated from their homes, with more than 75,000 homes in the Ventura and Los Angeles counties already having been evacuated.
Praying for the safety of our neighbors, loved ones and all those affected by the rapidly spreading fires in California. We’re grateful to the firefighters and first responders working to keep everyone safe.

Cook’s tweet didn’t go into any specifics on how much or through which channels Apple will be providing assistance, although the company often provides financial aid during environmental disasters such as these.
