Apple’s iOS 9.3 Preview page highlights ‘Night Shift’ mode + more

Apple is positioning iOS 9.3 as a major update, as evidenced by its new iOS 9.3 Preview webpage. The upcoming update had its first beta release today, and Apple has decided to point out a few of the new features. The biggest addition is Night Shift, a new feature that automatically makes display colors warmer based on the device’s clock and geolocation — the colors become warmer at sunset in your location. Apple claims viewing the warmer colors in the evening will make it easier to fall asleep at night.
There are a number of other interesting new features in iOS 9.3, as well. Notes can now be secured with Touch ID or a passcode. CarPlay will be able to access New and For You from Apple Music, straight from the in-dash display. The Health app displays move, exercise, and stand data from Apple Watch, and adds slider menus to existing categories like Weight, Workouts, and Sleep. Apple also says its News app’s For You section will be even “better tailored to your particular interests,” and News can be viewed in landscape mode on iPhone. At this point, Apple only says that iOS 9.3 is “coming this spring.”
