Braven has announced several new speakers at this year’s CES, expanding its active and rugged speaker lineup with new options across the board. The new Braven 105 ($60) and Braven 405 ($100) wireless speakers add to the company’s Active Series, and the new BRV-XXL looks like an absolute beast of a speaker. Braven’s parent company, Incipio, also introduced a few new interesting items at the show.
Braven’s massive new BRV-XXL ($350) is designed to bring earth-crushing HD sound to any indoor or outdoor event. It features a tank-like design, titanic surround sound, and more, along with a 14-hour playtime, and a built-in 15600 mAh battery that can charge up iPhones and iPads. It’s built from aircraft grade aluminum and ABS, meaning it can withstand accidental falls, sand, dirt, dust, and rain (it’s IPX5 waterproof rated). NFC provides one-touch connectivity for compatible devices and it includes on-board controls for adjusting bass, treble, volume, and skipping tracks, and a 3.5mm microphone input allows you to use it as a PA system as well. If that weren’t enough, it even sports a built-in bottle opener on the carrying strap.
The Braven 105 is a palm-sized Bluetooth speaker that provides up to 8 hours of power on a single charge and can fit into most pockets or hang on a bike or strap of a backpack. IPX7 waterproof rating and an attached carrying loop make it ideal for carrying on outdoor activities. It’s expected to be available in Q2 2016.
The Braven 405 is a mid-sized speaker which Braven claims is designed for a fitness studio, locker room, pool, or deck, with its all-weather design. It sports an IPX7 rating and can double as a portable backup battery, with a 12-hour run time. It’s also expected to appear in Q2 2016.
The new BRV-BLADE LE ($200) is a super-rugged Bluetooth speaker that’s designed to withstand the most extreme conditions. BRV-BLADE LE can be taken along on adventures such as rafting, rock-climbing, four-wheeling and more, while pumping out powerful sound with its Bass Optimization and Boost Mode features, which instantly maximize volume to its highest level. The casing features aircraft-grade aluminum, shockproof ABS construction, and tie-down bars made of a military-grade glass filled nylon for fast and easy securing to most surfaces. A built-in 4000 mAh power bank lets it double as a mobile charger and a built-in microphone allows for hands-free calls. Bluetooth SMART technology allows users to remotely control speaker features, customize EQ settings, and more using Braven’s iOS app. BRV-BLADE LE should hit shelves in Q2 of 2016.
The BRV-BANK PRO LE ($130) is a ultra-rugged version of the company’s BRV-BANK Bluetooth Smart backup battery, providing 6000 mAh of power and two USB charging ports (1A and 2.4A). With an IPX7 waterproof rating and an aircraft-grade aluminum housing, BRV-BANK PRO LE is designed to withstand extreme conditions for the outdoor adventurer. It also features a built-in 300-lumen LED flashlight and can be expanded with all of the accessories from the company’s BRV-PRO Bluetooth speaker ecosystem, such as the solar charging panel, multi-tool, GoPro compatible action mount, and even the stacking plate to combine multiple BRV-BANK PRO LE batteries for even more power. Like its predecessor, it includes Bluetooth Smart features so users can remotely control and monitor the battery pack using Braven’s iOS app, including Braven’s unique “Bear Mode” feature. It’s expected to be available in Q1 2016.
Incipio also launched a new collection of Apple Watch accessories, including six new Apple Watch bands and a new dock. Apple Watch Dock ($30) is crafted from premium aluminium, and designed for optimal Apple Watch charging in watchOS 2’s Nightstand mode, with a non-visible cable routing channel for easy cord-management and a non-slip rubber base to keep the stand in place. It will come in silver or black and is expected to be available in the coming weeks.
Incipio has also introduced the new offGRID Backup Battery 2000 mAh Bundle with Dock ($70). The bundle includes two 2000 mAh pocked-sized batteries with built-in Lightning cables. Both batteries can be charged simultaneously with the included dock.
